Now it get serious. Peter and me start fighting at double consulting. Advanced performancerating of 7.6 is ok for the start. A close but clean win.

Most interessting Position during the match:

Looks like our opponents was disracted a bit :) at 3th move they move just 3 times 2 with a double 2. a blunder of course equity loss -0.095. but still they win the game.

next roll the double came but again a blunder. with 79% winchance and 30% gammonchance too good.
correct decision too good to double/drop

a very hugh blunder they did here. equity loss -0.200. a landingpoint for theyr checker in our house on the 16 would have been very importend.

it was always a piece of work to convince peter to double :) 7 pips in front, one checker out already. 81% winchance and we are not doubeling !!!!  god thx they didnt rolled a high double.

So far so good. Score 4:4 and peter starts with a usual move i usually dont do but didnt interfere. equity loss -0.106
correct move 8/2 6/2

and another one. but this time i agreed. equity loss -0.093. i dont see the big advantage to hit on 4 insteed on 3. he may hit back 2 checkers which can end very unconfortable.
correct move bar/22 6/4
________________________________________________________________________
a very hugh blunder of us. actually i was the force behind this move. i thought with the blot on 22 it is worth the risk as it looked very promising to me to be in nice position withhin the next roll if they dont roll a big joker. but obviously i was wrong even we got into the position i hoped for. equity loss -0.253
correct move 13/4

in this game we competed each other with blunders :)

even 10 pips behind i felt very strong. i am sure peter was against the double :)
winchance was 66%. not too bad but the analize say not enough to double.
correct decision no double/take
__________________________________________________________________________
26 pips behind we wanted to stay in theyr way. moving away from 9 came not to my mind. if they roll a double 5 we are dead.  but as always its a blunder not to close the 5. equity loss -0.096
correct move 24/16 9/5(2)
____________________________________________________________________________
dammit... it was me forcing peter to hit 2 checkers. he was about to make the right move. but it made us win the game :) equity loss -0.191
correct move 23/21 13/9

3 blunders in a raw. but to be honest i would have done the same here. equity loss -0.117
correct move 23/21 11/7
_______________________________________________________________________
what chicken we are. as favorites in the game we drop the double :) interessting here is that we are 53% favorite in the game and the double is correct. why ever we are favorites here, i really dont see it.
they hit a second checker or close a 4th spot in theyr house or both with a lucky 33 which would bring us in gammondanger. with a gammon we would loose the match. i still think it was the right decission despite the analize result i normally always accept.
correct decision double/take
_________________________________________________________________________
chickenplay :) a 46% gammonchance and we get doubled. gladly we refused :)
correct decision too good to double/drop

ouff score 7:7 a never ending thriller. and suddenly they get desperate.
a very funny opening move. blunder equity loss -0.224

blunder again. equity loss -0.259

i totally underestimated the gammonchance here. 42,5% !!! we where happy to get into the crofford game and doubled.
correct decision too good to double/drop
____________________________________________________________________
one little blunder away from victory. equity loss -0.125. i actually thought it is much stronger to have 3 checkers on 6,4 and 3 to be in good position of hitting if he leave the house with one checker. with closing the 2 i loose my material in my house and additional get in danger to get hit.
correct move 8/2 4/2

The last sideevent before it gets serious. Again i play Yan. But even i played much better in every single game (me expert, him casual player) i had no chance against his dices. This lost made me feel a bit unconfortable as it seemed that i am in a very unlucky phase and the mainevents are starting soon.

Most interessting Positons during the match:

Yans first bluner. kind of over confident after winning me 3 times :)
Equity loss -0.278
correct move bar/21 6/5

double blunder. Again his confidence is very big. Some pips in front but with only some towers his postition is everything but good.
correct decision no double/take

a big joker but he dont use it. very strange that he didnt hit me here.
equity loss -0.105
correct move 6/1 4/1
___________________________________________________________________
This looks very interessting to me. i was hoping for a checker on 12. my checker on 24 seemed to me a danger. many combinations can hit and cover and i may dance and he can move his checkers from 12.
but analize say i should have waited at 24. equity loss -0.092
correct move 9/3 7/4
_________________________________________________________________________
amazing hugh blunder i did here. equity loss -0.307 !!!!! already 12 peeps in front i shouldnt have taken the risk of getting hitted it seems. i thought this may get gammon if he dance and only 4 rolls can hit me.
correct move 13/9 3/1
____________________________________________________________________________
of course he rolled one of the 4 rolls and missed the double.
doubleblunder equity loss -0.121
correct decision double/take
_______________________________________________________________________
finally i got him and doubled with a 73% winchance and 39% gammonchanc. it was a borderlinedouble nearly too good to double but still correct. he took the double which is a hugh take-blunder. equity loss 0.707
correct decision double/drop
________________________________________________________________________
it looks a little dangerous to hit here. especially considering what lucky guy i am playing so i didnt. this blunder equity loss -0.122 cost me the game. he rolled 46 hitted me on 3 and i danced till it was over.
correct move 8/7 6/1
________________________________________________________________________
of course i should have hitted here. stupid blunder. equity loss -0.166
correct move 6/5(2) 2/1(2)

very hugh blunder. equity loss -0.462. staying on the 24 is a suicide attempt.
correct move 24/22 16/11
________________________________________________________________________
what a antijoker. it was a though decision to make here. if he escape with a high roll he wins the game. if he hits me it also dont look good so i took my chance with a risky hit in the hope he dance or maybe hit on 1 and dont get out. but my choice was a blunder. equity loss -0.140
correct move 12/8 7/2

i wanted to keep my chances high for closing the 6, but now i see it was useless as i have to move a 6 from 24 anyway. blunder equity loss -0.130

i am sure he will shake his head when he see his blunder here :) first of all he missed to double equity loss -0.062. not closing the 1 is a fatal blunder. equity loss -0.328 !!!

what an awful performance. my usual weakness when playing an intermediate opponent my performance goes down to intermediate too. i need to work on this problem intensiv. Or was his charming beautyful girlfriend sitting beside him disracting me ? :)

Most interessting positions during the match:

His first Blunder. ignoring rule number one of backgammon. "close the 5"
equity loss -0.130
correct move 13/10(2) 8/5(2)
________________________________________________________________________
really interessting ! equity loss of -0.254 !!!! i thought the block in front of him is pretty strong.
getting hitted on 13 didnt looked so dangerous to me. well ... the next roll 5/1 with following dancing teached me the danger :)
correct move bar/20 7/1
_________________________________________________________________________
a joker and he dont use it proper. sitting on 22 could end very bad. also he could prevent that i take the 1 spot which can be unconfortable at bear off. equity loss -0.150
correct move 22/20 11/9 3/1(2)
__________________________________________________________________________
i wonder that this is not a bigger equity loss. looks a very bad blunder to me.
equity loss -0.081. of course he should try to position himself for the 1 spot.
correct move 22/16 11/6
________________________________________________________________________
i would have done the same. i see no reason why he should take the risk of getting hitted with a 6/1
its anyway a gammon for sure if i cant hit him. but analize say blunder. equity loss -0.087

correct move 7/5
________________________________________________________________________
i catched him and the game turned totally to my favor. but i misjudged the situation and thought it is too good to double. but the gammonchance was just 13% therefor it was a blunder not to double.
correct decision double/take
________________________________________________________________________
a fatal blunder which cost me the game :( equity loss -0.135. first of all i again should have doubled but i still worked towards a possible gammon therefor i didnt moved away from 2.
correct move 24/18 2/1
__________________________________________________________________________
a very hugh final blunder from Yan. having the blot on 6 or 1 is the same risk. but with closing the 1 spot one more spot in his house would be closed and additional if hitted the chance of hitting more of his checkers is bigger if i can enter at 1. equity loss -0.278 !!!
but lucky him i didnt rolled a 1 and he won the game
correct move 12/6 3/1
________________________________________________________________________
very bad blunder at beginning of the next game. i dont know why i did this. of course closing the 4 is the strongest move. and as usual it got punished emeaditly with him rolling 5/3
correct move 6/4(2)
________________________________________________________________________
standard rules of backgammon. 4 spot is more valuable the 7 spot. equity loss -0.137
similar mistake i did before.
correct move 10/4 6/4
______________________________________________________________________
a very hugh joker moved as very hugh blunder. equity loss -0.228
correct move 24/21(2) 6/3(2)
_______________________________________________________________________
he is wasting material here to close his house. equity loss -0.147
 correct move 7/6 7/4
_______________________________________________________________________
dangerous situation. he needs to slow down not to get in danger being forced to open a blot before me.
equity loss -0.105
correct move 7/2 6/2
________________________________________________________________________
with a 70% winchance i should have doubled here. why ever i didnt :( it look a very clear double to me when i look at it now.
correct decision double/take
_________________________________________________________________________
a very dangerous blunder which created a interessting position. equity loss -0.118. i though if i hit i have a very good chance for gammon and if i dont hit i most proper loose the game. therefor i didnt doubled which was the wrong decision. gammonchance was just 24% and right decision would have been double/drop
correct move 18/13 9/6

finally he won the match. not a very deserved win but "i deserved to loose" with playing so bad.

first of 2 blunders. he needs minimum a 65 to escape. So i thought i still have a chance to win the game if i can hit him. i underestimated the gammonchance of 34.5% and of course lost gammon :(
