a beginner allways make me play bad. once again a performancerating over 10.

Most interessting positions during the match:

i still saw potential in this game but a hit would be bad so i thought. but my choice is considered as blunder.
equityloss -0.200
correct move 9/4 6/5

a utterly devastating blunder. a record equity loss of -0.347 !!!! the strange thing here is that i still think my move was not so bad. opening 3 checkers even can get me in gammondanger if he get a lucky roll. but also a rollout did not change the equity. i am/was badly wrong.
correct move 8/5(2) 6/3(2)
__________________________________________________________________________
would have done the same blunder. equity loss -0.173
correct move 16/13 8/7
__________________________________________________________________________
as i saw blunder here i thought taking is a blunder or maybe too good to double.
but no ! ... my double was wrong.
correct decission no double/take

  1. Your blog is very interesting. In these positions I often make mistakes.

    Concerning the second one:
the strange thing here is that i still think my move was not so bad. opening 3 checkers even can get me in gammondanger if he get a lucky roll. but also a rollout did not change the equity. i am/was badly wrong.

If you clear your 13pt you "free" Black's 4 checkers on his 13pt and 14pt, that can blitz your single checker on your 20pt.
As you cannot move the 20pt checker, your priorities are: unstacking the 6pt; making some home board points (especially the very important 5pt).
Getting a second checker sent back is not a big danger because with it you can anchor on the 20pt or hit the black blot on the 21pt.
Finally, the blots on 8 and 10 are only hit with indirect shots (less likely than direct shots).

  2. thank you. nice to get finally someones opinion. i agree.. anyway useless to argue with a rollout :) only the amount of equityloss makes me wonder.
